EDUCATION
Continuous education and the artistic growth are very important components of a successful career in our industry. As a part of the Aveda network, Salon Azure fully benefits from one of the best educational networks in the industry. Salon Azure offers weekly classes in haircutting, hair color, styles, business and other important skills. We also encourage all designers to take advantage of local, regional, national and international educational events. Salon Azure crew members participated in New York Fashion Week, London Aveda Academy training, Toronto Aveda Academy training, Aveda Congress, Aveda Master Jams, Advanced Education Classes and industry events and conventions.
Our education system is driven by our senior level professional hairdressers. They included AVEDA Purefessionals in haircutting and color, and in salon certified educators with years of teaching experience.
The essential stage of education process is directed towards first brining beauty school graduates to perform essential skills at a professional level. These skills are shampoo treatments, blow-dry, styling and finishing skills as well as other essential skills. The initial compensation is increasing rapidly with new skills certification.
The second stage of education is focused on certification of essential service skills such as color mixology, color application, essential color services such as new grow retouch, grey blending, overall color application, foiling. The cutting specialist certify in essential haircutting skills, such as one length, layers, short cuts, and other essential cutting skills. Upon completion of the second stage, hairdressers open their schedule and begin to service salon guests with services in which they have received certification.
We do not require specialization, but most of our professional hairdressers specialize in haircutting or color. We also have several dual specialists. In the beginning, hairdressers start with one specialty and attend education classes and certify in that specialty, however later they have an option to add and certify in another specialty.
We also offer a fast-track path for experience hairdressers who join our crew. This fast-track is tailored to each individual hairdresser and is based on the level of experience and expertise of each hairdresser.
The aim of our education system to expedite the preparation of young hairdressers to achieve certifications and begin working with salon guest with confidence and professional level consistency. In addition, our educators and other successful hairdressers continue to mentor and assist young hairdressers during their professional development.
